Gluten-Free Austin Curbside To-Go & Marg Kits

Gluten-Free Austin Curbside Delivery To-Go

Well it is time for an Austin Gluten-Free Curbside To-Go List to add to my other lists of Gluten-Free Austin Restaurants, Texas BBQ, Mexican Food, and the AFBA South, Central & East Gluten-Free Guide.

So for the last year instead of date night out on the weekends, we have been hitting up our favorite local places for to-go orders and margarita kits. There are a lot of restaurants here in Austin that provide curbside delivery or take-out with gluten-free options. This is a round up of some of them.

I’m linking to the main websites that have both regular menus and a link for to-go ordering online. I’ve noticed that some restaurant menus are changing frequently based on what supplies are available or just to keep things interesting. Some are offering market goods, too.

Check the regular menu for gluten-free items if they aren’t listed on the online menu or family meals to-go. I’ll do my best to share what we’ve found so far.

—— Asian ——

Chicken Briyani and Masala Dosa from Asiana Indian Cuisine

Asiana Indian Cuisine

You have to call to place an order for pick up here. Although not marked, most Indian food is gluten-free except for the naan (of course).

One of my favorites are the South Indian Dosa, which are thin rice flour crepes filled with various things like onions and potatoes (masala dosa).  These are great for dipping in all the sauces.  Some other faves are the Reshmi Kabob, Chicken Tikka, Lamb Korma, and Chicken Briyani.

Austin Gluten-free Curbside Delivery Meals and Margaritas from Bar Peached

Bar Peached

Bar Peached specializes in fusion Asian comfort food and cocktails. We ordered the BP Taco Family Pack for curbside pick up and kept it gluten-free with corn tortillas (you can make a choice when you order online). Plus a side order of Wafu Salad.

You get the Charred Brussels and a choice of Taco Trio (we went with the bbq brisket and spiced cauliflower because the Bahn mi is not gluten-free). There is also a Chimichurri Fried Fish Taco in the kit.  That one also isn’t gluten-free so Brett ate that and really loved it!

I love that dietary restrictions are clearly marked on the menu whether it is gluten-free, vegetarian, or vegan or contains shellfish or peanuts. And you can make choices when you place the order online. The menu may change as different options are available to restaurants, too.

And of course we stocked up on some bottled Margarita de Peached.  One of my fave margaritas in town! Made with habanero, Thai basil fused tequila, orange liqueur and lime. Yum.

Austin gluten-free restaurants - Korean Bulgogi at Oseyo

Oseyo

Oseyo serves Korean food. All of the gluten-free options are clearly marked on the regular menu and they only use gluten-free Korean soy sauce in their dishes. I love the Wood Grilled Beef Bulgogi served with banchan and lettuce for making wraps. As well as the Ddukbokki, which are savory rice cakes sautéed in a sweet and spicy chili sauce.

Thai Fresh

Thai Fresh serves authentic Thai food made with fresh local ingredients.  Plus next door there is an entirely gluten-free bakery and coffee shop with lots of goodies to order online for curbside pick up.

Many of the items on the menu are gluten-free except for the fried items which have an “*” next to them.  Other dishes are marked “not gluten free” but the noodles can be substituted. The Pad Thai is definitely a huge favorite with Austin foodies!

They also have an online grocery and retail store for all kinds of goods available for pick up.

Wedding Anniversary Cake (gluten-free and vegan) from Gati/Thai Fresh specialty bakery

And you can order specialty cakes from the Thai Fresh sister store, Gati Vegan Ice Cream. We ordered a vanilla cake with strawberry icing and strawberry filling (gluten-free and vegan) for our 10th wedding anniversary for pick up. It was fantastic!

Austin Gluten-free Curbside To-Go Family Meals from Paul Martin’s American Grill

Paul Martin’s American Grill

Paul Martin’s serves up classic comfort food. And now they have family meals to-go! You need to check the main menu to see what is gluten-free and what is not.

We ordered the Cobb Salad and the Braised Short Rib Family Meal.  In the family meal, the braised short ribs, seasonal salad (without croutons) and mashed potatoes are gluten-free.  However, the crispy brussels and the bread (obvi) are not gluten-free.  So that’s all for Brett. Lots of great options here and I really love the salad dressings.

gluten-free onion rings at wilder wood

Wilder Wood Restaurant & Bar

Wilder Wood also serves classic comfort food, and it is a 100% gluten-free kitchen. So nothing on the menu is off limits. You have to call to place an order for pick up.

They serve all kinds of goodies like hand-cut onion rings, calamari and super nachos or entrees like chicken fried steak and country fried chicken.  They have street tacos, fajitas and enchiladas.  Salads.  Black Angus burgers and delicious hand-cut fries.  The gluten-free buns are really good, too (not too much bread, not dry and they don’t fall apart).

La Barbecue Curbside Pick-Up - Austin Gluten-Free Curbside To-Go

La Barbecue

I was so excited to pick up La BBQ! They confirmed the meat and BBQ sauces are gluten-free. The brisket, smoked turkey, pulled pork, pickled onions, and super spicy pickles were amazing.

2027 East Cesar Chavez, Austin TX 78702

Leroy & Lewis

This is a BBQ food truck and the menu is always changing. You need to order directly at the truck and ask about gluten-free options. I know that the meats, smoked chicken, kale Caesar slaw, potato salad, kimchi, and beet BBQ sauce are gluten-free. And you can now order sauces and rubs online, too.

Terry Black’s BBQ

Terry Black’s Barbecue

Pretty delicious Texas barbecue.  All of the gluten-free sides and smoked meats are indicated on the menu.  I absolutely loved the smoked turkey, brisket, coleslaw, and potato salad, and spicy sauce.  Currently they are taking pre-orders for pick up.  The small family pack here included three pounds of meat and 5 pints of sides.  You can also order meat by the pound and sides separately. And they have nationwide shipping.

ATX Cocina Gluten-Free Taco Kits and Margaritas

ATX Cocina

ATX Cocina is a 100% gluten-free kitchen! The masa is processed in house and sourced from heirloom varieties of corn grown by small family farms in Mexico. They have a variety of rotating taco kits and margaritas available for ordering online. My favorite is the barbacoa beef short rib and salsa samplers.

Margaritas, chips and salsa from El Arroyo

El Arroyo

I’m not sure about the food at El Arroyo, but I do know that the chips are gluten-free. So if you are feeling like some margs to-go they do offer a margarita kit with chips and salsa!

1624 West 5th Street, Austin TX 78703

Eldorado Cafe Austin Mexican Food

Eldorado Cafe

Eldorado cafe has online ordering and really great curbside delivery. I love a menu that has clearly marked items containing gluten (G) and the dishes that are subject to cross contamination (CC). So I can easily choose from all the gluten-free options!

I tried the Carnitas Cubanos (crispy pork roasted in Cuban style citrus garlic mojo) which comes with pickled red onion, pico de gallo, guac, corn tortillas, and a choice of two sides.  I went with the Eldorado Rice and Las Calabasas (butternut squash hash) and Brett had the Beef Enchiladas. It was delicious.  Now there are so many more things I want to try!

3300 W. Anderson Lane, Austin TX 78757

Fresas Chicken Chopped Salad with Pulled Achiote Chicken, Kale Caesar Salad, Street Corn.

Fresa’s Chicken

Fresa’s is one of my favorite places! They started off doing to-go before expanding and really have it nailed down. The chimichurri skirt steak and grilled achiote & citrus chicken dinners are the bomb!  They have amazing seasonal offerings as well as some of the best salads and power bowls out there. Everything is so good.

Stay away from anything fried as they do not have a dedicated fryer. The chips are not made in-house so should be okay. Also avoid croutons on salads.

 Fresa’s Chicken

I absolutely love the spicy ancho chile margarita. At first they were selling margarita kits but now the mix the drinks and bottle them. Served with spicy salt and limes, too.

Grizzeldas Party Pack with Guac, and Grizz-Mizz Margaritas, as well as Picadillo and Barbacoa Taco Plates

Grizzelda’s

Super excited that Grizzelda’s offers to-go party packs with their Grizz-Mizz margaritas, guac, and queso. I would avoid the chips and anything fried, though, because I don’t think there is a dedicated fryer and they make churros.  But all else should be safe.

They also offer generous portions of the Picadillo tacos with dry-aged Jacoby ground beef as well as barbacoa with their awesome corn tortillas, rice and beans. I absolutely loved ordering online because they have dietary restriction options on the order menu so you can mark celiac and gluten-free.

105 Tillery Street, Austin TX 78702

 La Condesa

La Condesa

La Condesa has some really great family pack dinners and margarita kits. The serving portions were really generous, too!  They have so many gluten-free options (look at the original menu before the online order menu).

We went with barbacoa cooked in a banana leaf and grilled mushrooms with mint chimichurri (insane delicious) and heirloom corn tortillas.  Plus a few other add-ons.  So good.

400A West 2nd Street, Austin TX 78701

Gluten-free To-Go from Lupe Tortilla

Lupe Tortilla

So Lupe Tortilla is another one of our favorite Tex-Mex places.  Almost everything is gluten-free, including the tortilla chips (they do have a dedicated fryer).  The guacamole, salsa and bean dips are really good. I love the beef fajitas, carne asada, barbacoa tacos, and verde enchiladas.

The regular menu has a little wheat symbol next to menu items that contain wheat or flour and are not gluten-free so look there before ordering online.  They have lots of margaritas, beer and wine for curbside to-go orders, too.

701 South Capital of TX Highway, Suite K, Austin TX 78746

They also offer margarita kits and frozen margaritas when you order food. Lots of yummy options.

Suerte Tacos, Chips, Salsa, and Don Darios Margarita

Suerte

Suerte has turned into a casual taqueria and has some fantastic street taco kits, salsas, and sides available for ordering online and curbside pick-up. The house-made masa tortillas are so good. And if I’m being honest, the Don Dario margarita is also one of my favorites in town. I do love a spicy margarita!

Deana Larkin Evans

You get one life - do your best to ENJOY IT! So hi, I'm Deana. This food blog is all about cooking wholesome real food and developing gluten-free recipes for some of our favorite comfort foods. I had to start eating gluten-free in 2010, then cut dairy and casein (except for the occasional Parmesan) in 2014. We learned A2 casein (goat, sheep and buffalo milk) is easier to digest than the predominate A1 form in cow milk. So we brought back goat milk dairy into our recipes in 2016. Thank goodness, right! So I'm kind of a science nerd, too. In the '90s, I earned an undergrad degree in biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin. Hook 'em! Then followed up with a PhD in biochemistry and a law degree from the University of Houston. I recently earned a certificate in genomics/sequence analysis from Johns Hopkins University, where I also took a very cool food microbiology course. Currently, I'm learning about the microbiome and gut health. And trying to come up with healthy recipes to feed those gut bugs! #feedthegutbugs
