Time for the Weekly Menu

Hello everyone!  This is going to be a fun week.  Two of my good friends are getting married this weekend.  And our little group of friends from my days working at Crate & Barrel are getting together again, which is always so much fun.  Lots to look forward to!

We are trying out a couple new recipes this week.  BTW the potsticker Asian soup from last week was the bomb!  So so good.  This week we are trying a pork stew from Martha Stewart and the paprika chicken recipe.  And we’ll be enjoying some of the seasonal produce available, like a few different kinds of squash and purple cauliflower.

I’ve also decided to shut down my Facebook page for the The Weekly Menu Cookbook on Monday because I’m tired of being harassed by Facebook to pay to sponsor posts.  Every post gets a notification to boost, shows up in my feed to boost, also in my messenger and via email.  Here is the thing, I share what I find to eat in order to help people looking for dinner ideas that have gluten, dairy/casein restrictions.  I enjoy doing it.  It helps me shop wisely and waste less food.

But I’m not a young blogger trying to create a business.  And it is driving me bananas.  So I’m getting rid of that FB page.  I’ll still keep other platforms like twitter, pinterest, linked in, google +, and Instagram.  Please follow me there if you’d like.  Click on the little icons on top of this page to take you to each site.  And you can always sign up to get an email of the weekly menus, recipe links, the occasional shopping list, too.

It’s mostly non-GMO or organic, and totally “free from” gluten, dairy/casein (except goat cheese or Parmesan), xanthan gum, soy and more…

Meatless Monday – Spinach, Mushroom & Goat Cheese Frittata with Side Salad

Tuesday – Green Chile & Tomatillo Pork Stew

Wednesday – Paprika Chicken & Spinach with White Wine Butter Sauce (using ghee instead of butter) & Roasted Squash

Thursday – Spiced Roasted Chicken & Roasted Purple Cauliflower, Golden Beets, Delicata Squash

Friday – Dinner Out @ Salt Lick

Saturday – Kevin & Anthony’s Wedding

Sunday – Steaks, Potatoes & Asparagus

Hi! I'm Deana. This food blog is all about cooking wholesome real food and developing gluten free recipes for some of our favorite comfort foods. I also create weekly menus to save time and money while reducing stress and food waste. I had to start eating gluten-free in 2010 and dairy/casein-free (except for the occasional Parmesan or goat cheese) in 2014. I'm kind of a science nerd, too. In the '90s, I earned an undergrad degree in biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin. Hook 'em! Then followed up with a PhD in biochemistry and a law degree from the University of Houston. I recently earned a certificate in genomics/sequence analysis from Johns Hopkins University, where I also took a very cool food microbiology course.
