The Weekly Menu March 7

Hi everyone! How are we already into the month of March? ? ? ? It’s going by so fast. And of course, it’s time again for another weekly menu! Saving us ???!

So we voted last Tuesday #SuperTuesday – and it is an understatement to say that this is going to be a really weird election year! ?? If you are progressive like me and haven’t seen Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, you’ll probably really like it. I appreciate that she unapologetically represents a progressive female perspective.

So as always, we need to eat this week…

Here is the mostly organic, non-GMO (we found some gluten free, non-GMO El Milagro corn tostadas so we’re bringing back tostadas into the rotation!!!), dairy/casein free (except for the Parmesan cheese), totally gluten free, real food weekly menu for the beginning of March and my absolute favorite time of the year… Spring! ?????

Meatless MondayBlack Bean Tamales from Texas Tamale Company and probably a little Yellowbird Sauce to top it off. We talked about queso for the hubs but we’ll see if it materializes because I do get super jealous and kinda cranky that I can’t eat cheese and queso anymore.

TuesdayCarnitas (pork shoulder) Burrito Bowls

Wednesday – What we ate last night! Again… because it is so good!

ThursdayChicken Noodle Soup

Friday Turkey Taco Meat and Amy’s Refried Black Beans (in no BPA cans) on Tostadas (El Milagro’s gluten free non-GMO tostadas) with Stuff

Saturday – Kabobs from Persian Mama with Basmati Rice smothered in Ghee, Sumac, Roasted Tomatoes and Herbs – a really special treat for us because her recipe is so authentic and delicious!

Sunday Roasted Chicken Tostadas with More Stuff on It

Breakfast Chocolate Zucchini Muffins

We’ve had so much fun walking Lizzy around the apartment complex lately and meeting our neighbors and their fun little pups. She’s met a couple of dogs about her size, which is awesome. They just play and play! And then she forgets to eat and gets super cranky.  So we have to hand feed her/the crazy alter-ego “Chompers”. #Puppies ?❤️

Have a great week everyone!

Hi! I’m Deana. This food blog is all about cooking wholesome real food and developing gluten free recipes for some of our favorite comfort foods. I also create weekly menus to save time and money while reducing stress and food waste. I had to start eating gluten-free in 2010 and dairy/casein-free (except for the occasional Parmesan or goat cheese) in 2014. I’m kind of a science nerd, too. In the ’90s, I earned an undergrad degree in biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin. Hook ’em! Then followed up with a PhD in biochemistry and a law degree from the University of Houston. I recently earned a certificate in genomics/sequence analysis from Johns Hopkins University, where I also took a very cool food microbiology course.
